Established in 1988 by Gordon and Sue Bennett, the team at Bentley Fire Shop have over 25 years of supplying, installing and servicing a range of heating appliances. Initially, the family company was set up as a plumbing and heating business, but soon diversified into wood burning stoves. Following fast growth, Gordon and Sue set up a small showroom in Plough Road Business Centre, Great Bentley, after which followed 20 years of increasing success. This culminated in the company moving to a larger, more prominent building at the head of the Centre, in 2011.
With the additional space of the new showroom, Bentley has built on its reputation for its extensive range of wood burning and multi-fuel stoves. Currently, the showroom features over 50 stoves, while also boasting an array of fireplaces and fires. In addition to the wood burning stoves, Rayburn range cookers are displayed within stunning bespoke wood kitchens by Designs In Wood – a Brightlingsea-based company owned and run by Sue’s sister Rebecca and her husband James.
In 2009, Gordon and Sue met with USA-based manufacturers Central Boiler, to discuss the distribution of the RHI eligible E-Classic range of outdoor wood gasification boilers. This struck a successful relationship, where Bentley now has exclusive rights to the distribution of the products in the UK, with a dedicated network of dealers and installers throughout the country.
